In know we are just finishing shoveling snow and in freezing temps but luckily it is time to start thinking about the 2019 baseball season!

As you may or may not know, Parkway has fielded a 13-year-old team sporadically in the past. Because of Little League age rules, Parkway Little League cannot run a team for this age group, as official Little League ends at age 12, and so must have another Parkway "mini-organization" in place to have the team complete. This adds quite a bit of work to an already busy board and community of families.

The Parkway Little League board has decided that it is not in the best interest of Parkway to continue to pull focus away from its official Little League operation to support a 13-year-old team going forward.

Luckily, just “up the road”, East Twins Babe Ruth runs a very strong program that supports this age group and above. Parkway has therefore entered into an agreement with East Twins that we will suggest strongly that our “graduating Little Leaguers” will play at East Twins. In return, East Twins will no longer run a Cal Ripken program for players aged 9-12, and instead, encourage those families that show an interest there to come to Parkway Little League.

We would like to see our 13-year-old players getting connected and planning to play at East Twins to get this agreement between our two organizations off to a strong start. Both are working to provide quality community service through baseball and we are looking forward to working together to make that happen for the East Metro.

Please respond to this email confirming your interest in playing for East Twins this upcoming season. Also, I am happy to meet with anyone who would like more detail. Please include that desire in your reply to this email.
